Soft Skills Mastery
What are soft skills? What are hard skills?
π Download the worksheet below and fill in the table to better understand the difference between these two types of skills.

TOWARDS MASTERY
There’s a few key soft-skills to master for ongoing success in speed-dating (or when making quick connections). Keep practising these when you attend the FIlterOff events:
β³ Time management
– You only have 2-5 minutes to make a good impression! per ‘date’
– Keep your answers short / brief (offer a sample! not a full description)
– Don’t ramble. Get to the point
– As each date comes to an end – thank them for their time and if you’re feeling brave, tell them you will opt to match with them (this creates more opportunity for you to continue practising developing rapport)
π¨οΈ Communication
– Prepare for interesting and engaging conversation by reading their bio and looking for points to enquire about
– Give sincere compliment (maybe) – this can be awkward for some who then feel obliged to give a compliment in return.
– Ask open-ended questions (What… / Where… / How…)
π§ Mindfullness
– Be present, in the moment
– Enjoy the journey of learning about each other
– Calm the nerves with deep breaths
– Be aware of your energy (mirror to develop rapport)
π Active listening
– Avoid interrupting unless they talk for 2minutes+ on one subject!
– Respond to their share with a comment or summary of what they said.
REFLECT AND MODIFY
Again, just as we did in Week One and Week Two, after each practice session, itβs time to reflect.
Download the Worksheet and complete the reflection questions in your workbook (or on a digital copy).
